On July 6, 2004 at 9:17 p.m. my beautiful wife, Valerie, gave birth to Reva Arlene Pettigrew! After 24 hours of labor the doctors decided the best course of action would be a cesarean section. ...it was a defining moment when Valerie's eyes met her daughter's for the first time. A Love beyond words would never be broken!

My mother, Edith Arlene Pettigrew, passed away on May 14th, 50 minutes into the new day. I was blessed to be with her and my older brother, Ronnie, during this wonderful event. It's kind a strange and difficult typing the previous line because people view "dying" or going to "the other side" so differently. Oh well. I can not Thank hospice and the Nursing Home enough of the care that was provided. more information forthcoming...

Valerie, the Finance Officer at the VA North Chicago Medical Center, was the "Acting Associate Director" of the facility during the 1st week of April. In other words, she was the number 2 person in charge of the place... Just so you know, when she was faced with "difficult" decisions, I provided significant and insightful input which was totally disregarded and ignored! Typical Management!!
