1. Why might you decide to use a transparent GIF instead of a regular GIF? Can you find an example of a transparent GIF on the Web?

• For the outside portions of an image that are not part of the 'picture', the transparent GIF will inherent the background color it is displayed on - blending
• Example: http://www.va.gov
 
 
2. Can you think of an instance where linking to a graphic would be helpful to visitors?
Gizmo
• Instead of displaying numerous high resolution PNGs and slowing down the loading of a page, create an ANCHOR to display the image.
• Also when you want to display an image on its own page using the 'target="_blank"' attribute.
 
 
3. Experience with animated GIFs?

• Aware of them but not familiar in creating them. What purchased software and freeware software would anyone recommend?
